On July 7, 2006 Andrew spoke at Le Rencontres D'Arles Photographie in Arles, France as part of Europe's largest Photographic Festival held yearly in Provence. The talk was part of a series of educational seminars sponsored by HP and were simultaneously translated into French for the participants. Henry WiIlhelm, David Saffir, and Andrew Darlow were just a few of the key presenters at the conference.

On October 7, 2004, Andrew was selected by the Visual Arts Program at UCLA Extension as the recipient of the “2004 Outstanding Instructor Award in Visual Arts Design/Computer Graphics & Graphic Design.”  Linda Venis, PhD, the Director of the Department of the Arts, wrote Andrew that this award “singles him out as one of the best” dedicated professionals teaching at UCLA Extension.  She also wrote that the award “honors his excellence as an instructor and Andrew's role in forging and upholding the reputation of UCLA Extension.”  Andrew's pioneering printing and color management classes were considered to be the first of its kind, giving students the opportunity to develop the skill in becoming a fine art printmaker.

For the past 9 years, Andrew has been educating and teaching. He has been fortunate to work with companies like Scitex, Gretag Macbeth, Santa Monica College, UCLA, Bauer Publishing Ltd, Photoshop World and ThunderLizard that have given him the opportunity to learn from some of the world's leading digital imaging, printing, design and color management specialists. "I never feel like I've learned enough, and I am constantly humbled by the wealth of knowledge that is available to us.  I've dedicated myself to be a life long learner.  If I can bring some of my experience and understanding into the classroom, there's a great sense of satisfaction, and I learn more just by sharing."

As a trainer for Scitex (now Creo), Andrew was responsible for classroom and onsite training with major printing and design companies. He developed classes in advanced scanning and fine art print making using the forerunner of digital (Giclée) ink jet printing, the IRIS printer. He continued on to serve as a senior technical support person with Scitex to help resolve complex issues for clients.

Andrew has been teaching at Santa Monica College in the Academy of Arts and Entertainment Technology for the past 5 years. He teaches ET37 Digital Imaging for Design and ET38 Advanced Digital Imaging for Design.  Both classes focus on design using Adobe Photoshop. Drawing on his time spent in graphic design and production, Andrew brings his work experience into the classroom to help students become more effective communicators.

In 2001, Andrew developed a series of scanning & imaging, fine art printing, and color management weekend workshops for UCLA's Graphic Arts Extension program. Having spent years working alongside master printmaker Jack Duganne of Duganne Ateliers in production, training and support, Andrew was well equipped to develop classes and workshops that take the mystery out of the digital printing/imaging process.

Andrew then went on to create a 10-week hands-on course entitled Mastering Fine Art Digital Printing.  This elective course for the Graphic Arts Certificate Program is now offered in the Extension Photography Department as well. He also developed a workshop with photographer <Scott Stulberg> entitled The Complete Digital Workshop which will help any digital photographer to master the workflow from initial capture to imaging to final print. By popular demand, Andrew will bring back his Demystifying Color Management workshop to UCLA Extension in the winter of 2005.
